"He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul." Psalm 23: 2-3a
It is time. It is time for rest, refreshment, and restoration.
As the hot summer steam drains every ounce of moisture from my body I must drink and replenish from the Well.
So, my dear, sweet, and faithful readers, I am signing off temporarily. For the next few weeks I'm resting from the great social demands of this blinking cursor in order to drink in God's Word. I may repost a few of my favorite posts from years past just to remind you I'm still here {smile}.
Until then, I anticipate God's quenching through his Word, the words of his saints past and present and the out-pouring of his Holy Spirit. I'm retreating all but two days a week at home in my little sanctuary. As he leads, my writing will be organic - pen to paper - where my thoughts flow freely and naturally. There's unfinished writing projects and the She Speaks Conference, but I'm not hopping off my blog to jump onto different tasks. Rather, I'm allowing room for God to breathe new life into me and through me.
While I'm gone, may I ask something of you? Will you pray for me that I will ...
- Thirst for God
- Abide in Christ and be satisfied
- Find rest in and be refreshed by His Holy Spirit
- Pray continually
- Listen carefully
- Talk less
- Hear God's voice clearly
- Place every thought under the obedience of Christ
- Know God's next step
